HELP DESK / TECHNICIAN -

 

Principle duties and Responsibilities

As the Help desk Technician, you are responsible for coordination and execution of tier1 in a multi-tier technical support service for our clients and internal staff., responds to client problems, both software and hardware applications. The schedule will be from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through

Friday, but the candidate must be flexible to work after-hours support in the evening, weekends and holidays, as well as in an on call beeper rotation. Strong IT skills (All varieties of Microsoft Windows, MS Office and LAN Technology) are required. Understanding of Linux flavors a major plus. You will perform installations, modifications and repairs on PC's and peripheral devices, as well as install software upgrades and run diagnostics on computer hardware. You may be responsible for tracking hardware and software inventory, hardware/software repairs on varied hardware/operating systems via desk side support, including:

 

  • handle stressful situations within time limitations and have excellent verbal and written communications skills, and have an excellent interpersonal and professional interaction skills

  • Excellent trouble shooting skills and customer service are required

  • The ability to work independently and manage time and tasks in a productive team environment are essential

  • Follows established procedures concerning network integration and delivery to the customer

  • Installs and upgrades hardware according to network design using defined procedures

  • Must be expert with EIA/TIA 568A & B code for cabling standards for Cat5e or better

  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware including printers, IBM compatible PCs, laptops, wireless cards, routers and switches.

  • Identify, isolate and report network outages

  • Assist field personnel in establishing, locating and repairing voice and data circuit malfunctions

  • Provide outbound notification of service interruptions to identified points of contact

  • Track , monitor, resolve, and report all open trouble tickets assigned to NOC

 

Candidate should have an Associate degree/technical degree, and or a minimum of 3 years experience.

A minimum of 3 references will be requested.
